Plattsburg Community Christmas Celebration 2011 Christmas Parade

Sorry folks, the parade has been cancelled due to the rain. It has been rescheduled for Saturday, Dec. 10th at 10:00 a.m. All other activities today will continue as planned. The Santa Visit will begin at 2:00 in the Community Courtyard.

 

Join us for the 2nd Annual Plattsburg Christmas Parade!
Dec. 3rd at 2:00 p.m.
  
This year's theme is "Stories of Christmas."

Parade plans include:
 --School bands
 --Christmas characters walking the parade
 --Christmas floats
 --Vehicles decorated up for the season
 --Festive walkers
                    And much more!

A "Grandstand" announcing each group will be located in front of the Courthouse on Main Street.

Santa will be at the end of the parade on a fire truck.  He will get off at the "Grandstand" where all floats will come around one more time so winners can be announced.  Saint Nick himself will deliver the trophies and prizes.

After the awards have been given out, Santa Claus will lead the children up the to the 2nd floor of the Courtyard where the Chamber's "Santa Visit" will begin.  Activities are free and include crafts, face painting, food, pictures with Santa and more.

We are still looking for floats and other entries for the parade.  There will be trophies and cash prizes awarded for floats.  If you would like to participate or have other questions please read the Float Information page.
Parade route: Down 2 blocks of Main Street downtown.
