What is the Tour of Churches?
The tour of churches is a FREE "progressive" activity, (everyone is welcome) that begins at one church and moves through the various participating churches in town.   Each church presents a 20 minute "program" of their choice, and when the program is over it's time to move on to the next church, where a new and different program will be presented.  The programs may vary from year to year, but in the past, churches have elected to present things such as skits, excerpts from Christmas cantatas, hand bells, choir, band & pipe organ music, hymnal sing-alongs, puppets, and many other types of entertainment.

For example, everyone gathers at Church #1, where they have chosen to perform a skit.  At the end of their 20 minute skit, everyone (including the people from Church #1) move on to Church #2.  (This leaves 10 minutes for people to get from church to church)  Church #2 may choose to let their children's choir perform.  At the end of that 20 minute program, everyone moves on to Church #3 for the next program, and so on, until all the churches have been visited. The last church on the schedule provides refreshments for everyone. This year, in honor of their 40th Year in Plattsburg, Oakridge Nursing Home will be providing the refreshments in the basement of the 1st Christian Church.
