2012 Festival Theme: To be announced

The Junior Princess and Little Mr. and Miss Plattsburg contests traditionally kick-off the Festival's gaiety on Wednesday night.  By Thursday evening, the town is anticipating the opening ceremonies which generally include the Fireman's Chili Supper Barbeque, the Boy Scout Flag Ceremony, the Chamber's "Person of the Year" and the introduction of the parade's Grand Marshalls. All the children look forward to the thrill rides at the Evan's Carnival, while Mom and Dad are entertained by the evening's live music concert.

Friday night usually brings out the little tykes riding their "decked-out" trikes in the Kiddie Bike Parade, and afterwards everyone heads over to the Cattleman's Dinner for some tender steak, and then on to the Chamber's Silent Auction to bid on fabulous prizes.  Then the whole family can enjoy the rides at the carnival.
Saturday of course is a full myriad of activities: First, breakfast at either the Broadway United Methodist Church or the Senior Center for one of their famous cinnamon rolls; then join the annual Walk for Hope (to fight Huntington's disease) or explore the many craft and flea market booths downtown.  The Fall Parade begins at Perkins Park in the afternoon, complete with prizes awarded for the best floats in each category, and if they haven't had enough of the rides yet, the teens and the "young at heart" can continue to seek their thrills all afternoon and evening at the carnival.
The list of events and activities can vary from year to year but whether it's "cruising" at the car show, stepping out at the Cake Walk, or entering the Pumpkin Carving contest, the Fall Festival is sure to bring a smile to everyone's face.
You won't want to miss out on this fun, family event!
