The Plattsburg Artist Coalition
was formed in the spring of 2000 by local artists. Their goal was to provide a
venue to show and sell their work and educate the community about fine art.
Since our first show we have opened our membership to any artist and have
members exhibiting from a wide geographical area .
The main show is held the first
weekend of November on Friday night and all day Saturday. This coincides
with our Merchants Christmas open houses which draws people to the area.
The show is located in
the Community Courtyard, 117 W maple St. This is a renovated 1850’s carriage
and livery stable. This brick building with graceful arch-ways was saved
from demolition by a group of concerned citizens in the late 1990’s. The
Friends of the Community Courtyard have committed to providing the
Coalition with this venue for our show.
Our shows include a Friday night
reception featuring live music, wine and food. It continues on Saturday
from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The Coalition provides the
artists with two 4X8 panels and/or 8' tables to display their work.
Should an artist have their own set-up they are welcome to use their own.
Membership runs from June to June.
Dues is $20.00. We meet the third Wednesday of the month from March
through November at 7:00 p.m. For location of meeting contact
