Spotlight
on
Fisher, Pickett & Fisher LLP
|
"Can
I sue my neighbor because the shade from his overgrown tree limbs are
killing the plants in my garden?"
"I don’t know what to do: I have a contract I’m supposed to
sign but with all the legal jargon, I don’t have a clue what it
says."
"I caught a woman shoplifting in my store. I want to prosecute
but who do I contact?"
If
you need legal help with any of the above or similar type situations,
who can you call? The law firm of Fisher, Pickett &
Fisher, of course. |
|
Robert Frost may have been
the firm’s original founding member and mentor, and the firm may
have changed names a few times over the years, but as it stands now,
among the three existing partners, Larry Fisher, George Pickett and
Christy Fisher, they offer 90 years of experience.
Larry Fisher was born
in Kansas City, Missouri and attended the University of Missouri,
where he was admitted to the bar in 1968.
George Pickett, born
in St. Joseph, Missouri was admitted to the bar in 1977 after
attending Missouri Western State College.
|
Christy
Fisher, who happens to be Larry’s daughter, was born right here
in Plattsburg and received her education from the University of
Missouri-Columbia, and was admitted to the bar in 1995.
The firm
specializes in the General Practice of Civil and Criminal Law, and has
two locations: one office in Plattsburg and one in Cameron.

What can the Chamber do for
you?
Here are some of the things we did in 2009
These are just some of the big
items. The Chamber's volunteers work tirelessly throughout the year
doing many additional tasks to promote Plattsburg. Without our membership
and volunteers, this list would be much smaller.
|
- Continued to
use the Chamber website to promote current events for the City of
Plattsburg.
- Launched
"The Chamber Exchange" Newsletter featuring information
about the members of the Chamber
- Promoted and
helped organize the annual City-wide garage sales. Free maps were
available on the web.
- Television
promotion on KQTV in St. Joseph. A short video spotlight
about the City of Plattsburg is featured on television as well as
online. This was available because of the Chamber's
membership in The Pony Express Region Tourism Commission.
- Radio
promotion with stations KKWK-KMRN of Cameron. Donation of
$250.00 of Plattsburg Bucks for their annual auction. In
exchange, the Chamber received advertising air time which featured
all Chamber businesses and promoted shopping locally during the
holidays.
- Reached more
than 100,000 readers, in multiple publications, in Nebraska, Iowa,
Kansas, Missouri.
- Organizing
and designing a new billboard on Northbound I-35.
- Designing
and publishing a full color rack card to promote tourism.
These will be distributed across the state of Missouri. Due to the
success there was an increase in the print run from 5,000 to
10,000.
- Developed a
Plattsburg Bucks promotion forth holiday season to go along with
the "Shop at Home" campaign.
|
- Sponsored the
watermelon feed prior to the Fourth of July fireworks show in
Perkins Park.
- Volunteered
with other organizations in a fundraiser during the EDCCC Summer
Blowout.

and honored Tonya Sloan as Fall Festival Person of the Year.

of Plattsburg.
