From its quaint shops and elegant Victorian homes, Plattsburg, Missouri offers all the charm and warmth of a true mid-western, small town. Plattsburg is located midway between downtown Kansas City and St. Joseph, Missouri.

Celebrate Black History month with us!

Under the leadership of Jamie Grayson, President/CEO of JLG Enterprise LLC, Plattsburg will present it's 2nd annual community Black History program,  "Life & Sounds of Black History," on Saturday, February 11th in the high school's Performing Arts Center.  The program lasts from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.  Admission is $5; students 15 and under are free.

Jamie Grayson was saddened to learn Plattsburg had no official school or community Black History program during the month of February, so last year he took the initiative to do what few people will: he put together a program and invited the whole community to attend.

Due to the overwhelming response and success of that program, coupled with Grayson's passion for educating people in general, once Grayson and JLG Enterprise LLC is proud to announce it's 2nd annual community Black History program for 2012.

This year's event will include: musical  performances by Jembe Orchestra, a dance presentation from Heritage Dance Ministry, and a puppet show from Skits and Stuff, in conjunction with B.I.G. F.I.S.H. Puppet Ministry.  Speakers include Dorothy Grayson sharing memories of the past little known town in Mecca, Missouri (now known by most as Smithville Lake), and Jamie Grayson who will speak on L.E.A.D (Lifelong Education and Development), along with Student Recognition awards and a Legacy Award Presentation.
